PEACE LIKE A RIVER
“For thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river.” (Isaiah 66:1 ESV)
The Lord gives us a most comforting and peaceful picture of heaven. “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river.”
While this peace will be complete and eternal in the presence of God, His angels, and all believers, we can have a divine measure of peace right now. This peace comes from trusting in our Jesus for forgiveness and comfort each day.
1 When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
(Refrain:) It is well (it is well),
with my soul (with my soul),
It is well, it is well with my soul.
2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,
