Thursday, April 13, 2023 - ROBED IN MAJESTY

"I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen." (Luther's Morning Prayer

Thursday, April 13, 2023 - Day 103 - (Today’s Bible readings: 2 Chronicles 24:1–19; Psalm 93; Luke 11:14–26)

ROBED IN MAJESTY

“The Lord reigns; he is robed in majesty...” (Psalm 93:1 ESV)

Christ is Risen!
HE IS RISEN INDEED! ALLELUIA!

During the sham of a trial that Pilate and the Jewish leaders perpetrated on Jesus, they mockingly placed a purple robe on Him. But that did not last long. Soon He would find Himself wearing far less as He hung between heaven and earth in payment for our sins... enduring the cruel cross, the piercing nails and the painful crown of thorns. He earned our forgiveness by enduring the agonies of the damned as He experienced forsakenness of hell as our substitute.

But then He rose! Yes, Jesus physically rose from the dead and now is seated at the right hand of God the Father robed in majesty!

We sing about His majesty with these words:

Majesty, worship His majesty
Unto Jesus, be all glory, honor and praise
Majesty, Kingdom authority
Flows from His throne
Unto His own, His anthem raise

So exalt, lift up on high the Name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus the King
Majesty, worship His majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified
King of all kings

Jesus who died, now glorified
Jesus who died, now glorified
King of all kings
(Majesty, Worship His Majesty: Written by Jack Williams Hayford)

My Jesus, thank You for wearing the robe of mockery for me and for taking on what should have been my bitter suffering and death. May the Holy Spirit keep my faith grounded in You and the fact that you are now ruling in majesty awaiting the day when You will call all of Your people to join in Your everlasting majesty. Until then, please use me to point others to You and Your majestic plan for all and any who repent and believe in You. Amen.
