"I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen." (Luther's Morning Prayer)

JOURNEY TO CALVARY
He was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” But they did not understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him. (Mark 9:31-32 ESV)
These words of Jesus remind us of the season of Lent. The destination of Lent is precisely what Jesus was attempting to prepare His disciples for.
Many today, like the disciples, do not understand the crucial importance of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. Maybe you are little confused too. Please take time to prepare for the Lenten destination. Lutheran Hour Ministries has an excellent Lenten devotional you can read or listen to using this link: http://www.lhm.org/lent
Go to dark Gethsemane,
All who feel the tempter’s pow’r;
Your Redeemer’s conflict see.
Watch with Him one bitter hour;
Turn not from His griefs away;
Learn from Jesus Christ to pray.
Lord, please bless my annual Lenten journey to Mt. Calvary. Grant that I may be blessed as I focus my eyes on Jesus and His cross. Amen.
“See” you in church tomorrow morning!
