February 9, 2019 - CHRISTIAN BOLDNESS

Day 40 - (Today’s Bible readings:1 Samuel 14:24-52, Psalm 38, Ephesians 3:14-21)

“And the Spirit of God rushed upon Saul when he heard these words, and his anger was greatly kindled...and he mustered... three hundred thousand.” (1 Samuel 11:6&8 ESV)

Saul displayed the boldness that comes from trusting in the Lord and knowing that He is ultimately in control of all things. Our Christians brothers and sisters in Ethiopia are displaying Christian boldness as they proudly follow Jesus and His cross even in the face terrorism and threat of death.

Do you display Christian boldness in your everyday life? Or are you afraid to stand up for Jesus? The Lord’s call is clear. We get to live for Him by serving others and looking for opportunities to share Jesus with them no matter what the obstacles may be.

Stand Up, Stand up for Jesus;
The strife will not be long;
This day the din of battle,
The next the victor's song.
The soldiers overcoming,
Their crown of life shall see
And with the King of Glory
Shall reign eternally.

O Holy Spirit fill me with Christian boldness and compassion. Please grant me opportunities to be an instrument of Your help and hope for others.  In Jesus’ saving name. Amen.
