April 24, 2020 - FAITHFUL HEZEKIAH

Day 115 - (Today’s Bible readings: 2 Chronicles 31:1-21; Psalm 105; Luke 15:11-32)

FAITHFUL HEZEKIAH

Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered. (2 Chronicles 31:20-21 ESV)

Hezekiah is an excellent example of faithfulness to God. “He did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God.”  May this be said of you as well.

Of course God’s faithfulness is everything for us. “Great is your faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:23) He faithfully keeps every promise He has made, including this one from the mouth of Jesus: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not: Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be
REFRAIN
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness,  Lord, unto me!

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! REFRAIN
(Great Is Thy Faithfulness, Lutheran Service Book #809 1&3)

Lord, please grant me the same faithful insight You gave to Hezekiah so that I, too, may seek You with all of my heart. And thank You for Your faithfulness to me shown in Your pardon and peace. In Jesus’ saving name. Amen.
