October 9, 2018 - YOU’RE IN GOOD HANDS
Day 282 - (Today’s Bible readings: Job 12; Psalm 98; Luke 10:25-37)
“In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.” (Job 12:10 ESV)
You’re in good hands with...
“Whereas Zophar has wrongly focused on people’s supposed ability to shape their own destiny, Job rightly recognizes God’s control. Our righteousness does not determine our well being, or lack thereof. Rather, it is all in God’s hands. When we become discouraged, it is vital that we remember God’s wisdom and power.” (Lutheran Study Bible, CPH 2009, page 779)
Yes, the believer is in good hands with Jesus. In His letter to the Romans, Paul makes this same point by giving us this promise:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28 NKJV)
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Savior. I know that I am in good hands with You. Please use me today to help someone else find relieve from Life’s challenges in You. Amen.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ), is the theme for this three-year journey through the entire Old Testament once (the Psalms - twice yearly), and the New Testament twice. There will be daily readings from the O.T., Psalms and the N.T. Special days on the church calendar will be highlighted with appropriate readings. This calendar has been compiled by representatives of the Lutheran Church of Canada, the North American Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
