October 18, 2020 - RUN THE RACE

Day 292 - (Today’s Bible readings: Ezekiel 46; Psalm 105:23-45; Hebrews 12:1-6)

RUN THE RACE

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-6

The writer to the Hebrews is calling believers to remember the example of the faithful who have gone before us and lay aside anything that would get in the way of following Jesus. He then tells us to keep our eyes on Jesus as we run the race of life.

How does this work?

1) Remember your Baptism.
2) Read God’s Word daily.
3) Follow the examples of other Christians.
4) Serve others in Jesus’ name.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for enduring the agonies of the cross for me and all sinners. Help me to keep my eyes on You and Your plan for my life. Amen.
