Wednesday, August 3, 2022 - GLORY BE TO JESUS

"I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen." (Luther's Morning Prayer)

Day 215 - (Today’s Bible readings: 2 Kings 6:24-7:2; Psalm 33; Matthew 16:21-28)
GLORY BE TO JESUS

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 ES

Do you understand how momentous this first line is? Jesus can do abundantly more than all you ask or think! His presence in your life means that you are blessed beyond human capacity to comprehend. One day, all will be made clear. One day, because of Jesus, you will be in heaven with Him. And this is truly beyond our comprehension! What we do know is that this is all possible because Jesus died and rose for us. He truly deserves to be glorified.
.
Glory be to Jesus,
Who in bitter pains
Poured for me the life blood
From his sacred veins!
(“Glory be to Jesus” Lutheran Service Book, CPH 2006 #433)

Lord Jesus, I thank You and praise You for all that You have done for me and in me. May the rest of my life glorify You as I live for you.  Amen.
