Day 194 - (Today’s Bible readings: Numbers 16:24-50; Psalm 13; John 4:16-45)
“But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because he has dealt bountifully with me.” (Psalm 13:5-6 RSV)
The Psalmist is giving us an example of how to live lives of true joy.
● Trust in the continual love of God.
● Rejoice in your salvation purchased on the cross of Christ.
● Sing hymns of praise and thanksgiving to your gracious God.
The hymn writer put it this way:
I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, Trusting only Thee;
Trusting Thee for full salvation, Great and free.
(“I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus,” Lutheran Service Book, CPH, 2006, #729 Stanza 1)
I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, Never let me fall.
I am trusting Thee forever And for all. Amen.
