May 15, 2020 - TAKE COMFORT IN THE PROMISES OF THE LORD
Day 136 - (Today’s Bible readings: Zephaniah 3:1-8; Psalm 119:49-56; Luke 22:54-65)
TAKE COMFORT IN THE PROMISES OF THE LORD
49 Remember your word to your servant,
in which you have made me hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
that your promise gives me life.
51 The insolent utterly deride me,
but I do not turn away from your law.
52 When I think of your rules from of old,
I take comfort, O Lord.
53 Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked,
who forsake your law.
54 Your statutes have been my songs
in the house of my sojourning.
55 I remember your name in the night, O Lord,
and keep your law.
56 This blessing has fallen to me,
that I have kept your precepts. (Psalm 119:49-56 ESV)
Lord God, thank You for being my comfort in the middle of the challenges I face each day. Please bless me today as I live for You. In Jesus’ saving name. Amen.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ), is the theme for this three-year journey through the entire Old Testament once (the Psalms - twice yearly), and the New Testament twice. There will be daily readings from the O.T., Psalms and the N.T. Special days on the church calendar will be highlighted with appropriate readings. This calendar has been compiled by representatives of the Lutheran Church of Canada, the North American Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Please click this link for the daily reading calendar:
