Day 294 - Proverbs Thursday (chapter 31)
“An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels... Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” (Proverbs 31:10 & 30 KJV)
Gentlemen, is your wife a gem? Ladies, does your husband call you excellent? Proverbs 31 describes a godly woman, one who is a blessing to her husband and to her family.
In verse 30 God sets the priorities for the gentle sex. It’s not about charm and beauty. It is about character. And the heart of Christian character is ones relationship with the Lord.
Ladies, may others be able to say that you fear the Lord! Gentlemen, that goes for you too.
We should fear, love and trust in God above all things. (Explanation to the First Commandment)
Heavenly Father, may all of us, men and women, fear, love and trust in You above all things. In Jesus’s saving name. Amen.
