July 1, 2018 - ARE YOU WALKING WITH JESUS?

Day 182 - (Today’s Bible readings: Numbers 8; Psalm 1; 2 Corinthians 11:1–15)

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. (Psalm 1  ESV)

Those who walk with Jesus, that is, those who are trusting in Jesus for forgiveness and heaven, are truly blessed. The chief blessing is that we are known by the Lord. So...

Let us ever walk with Jesus, Follow His example pure,
Through the world that would deceive us  And to sin our spirits lure.
Onward in His footsteps treading, Pilgrims here, our home above,
Full of faith and hope and love, Let us do the Father's bidding.
Faithful Lord, with me abide; I shall follow where You guide.
(Lutheran Service Book, CPH 2006, #685 stanza 1)

Heavenly Father, may the Holy Spirit lead me in Your ways, so that I may ever walk with Jesus. In His saving name, Amen.

“See” you at the Communion rail this morning.
