April 13, 2019 - FOLLOW THE RIGHT PATH

Day 103 - (Today’s Bible readings: Proverbs 2; Psalm 98; Hebrews 7:1-10)

For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6  ESV)

“Two roads exist for every person–the way of righteousness and the way of evil. The way of evil is populated with those who reject God and His good and gracious will. The way of evil leads to certain and eternal death. The way of righteousness is traveled by God’s forgiven children through faith in Christ Jesus, kept on the narrow path by the working of the Holy Spirit through the means of grace. The path of righteousness leads to certain and eternal life.”  (The Lutheran Study Bible, Concordia Publishing House, 2009, page 1002)

   Lord, take my hand and lead me Upon life's way;
   Direct, protect, and feed me From day to day.
   Without your grace and favor I go astray,
   So take my hand, O Savior, and lead the way.
   (“Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me,”  Lutheran Service Book #722)

Gracious heavenly Father, please keep me on the narrow path today that I may be part of Your eternal family. In the name of my Savior, Jesus.  Amen.

“See” you in church tomorrow!

Pastor David Paape

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ), is the theme for this three-year journey through the entire Old Testament once (the Psalms - twice yearly), and the New Testament twice. There will be daily readings from the O.T., Psalms and the N.T. Special days on the church calendar will be highlighted with appropriate readings. This calendar has been compiled by representatives of the Lutheran Church of Canada, the North American Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
