January 14, 2020 - WORDS FOR LIFE
Day 14 - (Today’s Bible readings: Isaiah 34:1-17; Psalm 13; John 6:60-71)
WORDS FOR LIFE
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68 ESV)
Peter is speaking an eternal truth here. In the book of Acts, Peter reiterated this truth: “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Take a look at some of Jesus’ words of eternal life:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14)
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:10-11)
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 19:14)
“The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)
Spending time in the Bible will fill you with more of Jesus’ words of eternal life.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for Your words of eternal life. Please continue to feed me with Your words, and then use me to share Your words with others. Amen.
