January 8, 2020 - LIVING WATER

Day 8 - (Today’s Bible readings: Isaiah 30:1-7; Psalm 7; John 4:16-45)

LIVING WATER

“I who speak to you am he.” John 4:26 ESV)

The Samaritan woman at the well tells the One who promised her living water that she was looking for the Messiah, the Christ. And then her special visitor tells her the glorious truth.

Jesus is the Messiah. He is the Christ. What does that mean to you? It means that Jesus is your living water. He is the only One who can fill the longing in your soul. He is your source of forgiveness and hope for heaven. His is God the Father’s promised One sent for you!

Like the woman at the well I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy:
And then I heard my Savior speaking:
"Draw from my well that never shall run dry".
Chorus
Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!

Thank You, dearest Lord Jesus, for being the living water that I so desperately need. Please keep my faith in You strong so that I may be Yours forever.  Amen.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ), is the theme for this three-year journey through the entire Old Testament once (the Psalms - twice yearly), and the New Testament twice. There will be daily readings from the O.T., Psalms and the N.T. Special days on the church calendar will be highlighted with appropriate readings. This calendar has been compiled by representatives of the Lutheran Church of Canada, the North American Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
