“This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me... This cup is the new covenant in my blood.”
(1 Corinthians 11:24-25 ESV)
One of the highlights of our regular weekly worship is the opportunity to gather at the Communion table to receive the treasures Paul identified in today’s reading.
At the Lamb’s high feast we sing
Praise to our victorious King,
Who has washed us in the tide
Flowing from His pierced side. Alleluia!
Easter triumph, Easter joy!
This alone can sin destroy;
From sin’s pow’r, Lord, set us free,
Newborn souls in You to be. Alleluia!
(At the Lamb’s High Feast We Sing Lutheran Service Book, CPH, #633 stanza 1&7)
Dear heavenly Father, thank You for granting us this Easter triumph and Easter joy. And Lord Jesus, may Your body and Your blood be for my soul the highest good. Amen.
“See” you at the Communion rail this morning!
