Day 215 - 2 Kings Tuesday (chapters 21-25)
“So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life he dined regularly at the king’s table.” (2 Kings 25:29 ESV)
“Despite all that has happened, the Lord provides for the preservation of the ‘house of David.’ For the next 500 years, the Judeans would anticipate the restoration of David’s reign, which the heavenly Father fulfilled in the coming of Jesus, the ‘Son of David,’ His kingdom–the Church–shall never end.” (Lutheran Study Bible, Concordia Publishing House, 2009, page 627)
Heavenly Father, thank You for preserving David’s line of descendants so that the ultimate Descendant, Jesus, would be born allowing me to be born again through Baptism. Thank You for driving all fear from life by sending Jesus to die on the cross in payment for all of my sins. Until You call me home to heaven, please use me to help others join Your eternal family, the Church. Amen.
