Day 338 - 1 John Sunday (Chapters 4-5)
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” (1 John 4:18 ESV)
Fear is an all too common motivator, ruining countless lives. But John assures us the love of God conquers fear. We sinners who have been cleansed in the blood of the Lamb no longer face the future with dread and foreboding.
We know the truth.
We know, believe and confess that God is love and that in His love, He sent His only begotten Son so that anyone who believes in Him has nothing to really worry about.
We know that Heaven is ours for sure!
And this fact changes the way we face each day.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your perfect love showered upon me in Jesus my Savior. Please remind me of all that this means for me when I am tempted to be fearful. In Jesus’ comforting and saving name. Amen.
