Day 172 - Leviticus Monday (4-6)
“... he shall restore it (that which he took that was not his) in full, and shall add a fifth to it.” (Leviticus 1:2 ESV)
The Lord describes the sacrifice and compensations of the guilt offering for mending relationships with God and with neighbor. While summing up the Law, Christ taught, ‘You shall love the Lord your God... You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ In the Law, the Lord calls us to something greater than self-interest. Praise God, His attitude toward us is merciful and self-giving. He desires our atonement.”

Lord, have mercy on me for my mistreatment of my neighbor. Lead me to love others as you have loved me in Jesus. Amen.
