June 27, 2016 - BLESSED PEOPLE

Day 179 - Leviticus Monday (7-9)

“Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them.” (Leviticus 9:23 ESV)

Aaron blessed God’s people after sacrificing offerings for their sins. Almost 1,500 years later, the One promised by God the Father would also lift of His hands and bless all mankind from His cross of sacrifice.

“He (Jesus) himself bore our sins in his body on the tree (the cross), that we might die to sin... By his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 ESV)

Just think of it - everything you have ever done that is wrong, even your wicked thoughts, have been paid for by Jesus' death on the cross. Just before He died, Jesus said, “It is finished.” This means that you don’t have to fear death. You don’t have to feel as if a big shoe is hanging over your head. Instead, anyone who repents and believes in Jesus is forgiven and guaranteed eternal life in heaven!

This truly makes believers in Jesus blessed people!

Thank You, heavenly Father, for blessing me with saving faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus. Remind today, and every day, how blessed by the Lord I really am. Amen.
